1) The Right Tools. So much can be done with a PC and laptop at your disposal. With broadband internet. If all else fails, you can always go back to a handy dandy notebook.
2) Resources. Go online and find a multitude of sources to help you come up with great pieces of work. Bookmark yourself some handy sites like Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary & Thesaurus, the indispensable Wikipedia or even more specialized sites like the Web Design Group’s resources on HTML and CSS. Don’t forget to optimize your search engines, and check out your competitors from time to time.
3) Make Your Workplace as Stress-Free as Possible: Free yourself from things that can distract you from work. Use whatever helps you stay in the zone. For me, music has always been inspiring. And a mug of water to sip on from time to time. For others, it can be ciggies and coffee, working barefoot, or even a treadmill to run on from time to time.
