Yes, you will definitely WANT to be the most effective writer you can ever be!
When you’re an effective writer, it means you have more time to do other things you want to do- whether its more work, more time with your loved ones, or simply more time for yourself.
Personally, I’ve always been a huge fan of Dr. Stephen Covey. His book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, is revolutionary: just as it has opened the minds of hundreds of thousands of readers, so too has it opened mine. You can read more about it here.
First of all, you have to be an independent thinker, a visionary. Free your mind. Be proactive, and OWN your work. Set your sights on what you want to achieve. Prioritize things that would help you attain your objectives.
Next, you have to work well with others- whether they be your clients, or your fellow writers. Nurture good relationships with them, because they will carry you, just as you would them. Always think win-win. Empathize. And synergize!
Always find time to keep yourself in a creative state of mind. Sleep well. Take care of your health. Surround yourself with things that inspire you.
Lastly, as you find your unique personal significance, set others on the path to find their own! This way, you’ll find a higher purpose to your craft- something that gives you fulfillment and feeling of being rewarded.
